History

Hudgin Awning Company of Norfolk, Virginia began manufacturing canvas awnings, canvas window shades and tarpaulins in 1913.

In 1922, Archie Thomas Dize purchased the company and moved its headquarters to Winston-Salem, North Carolina and began manufacturing all types of tents for fairs, carnivals, circuses, gospel events and the United States Armed Forces. At that time, Mr. Dize changed the name of the company to DIZE AWNING & TENT COMPANY.

Members of the Dize family continued ownership and management of the company until 1986 when Mr. C.R. Skidmore, Jr. purchased it, and the name was changed to the DIZE COMPANY to reflect the much expanded product line.

PHILOSOPHY

We will work hard to hear our customers say, “I enjoy doing business with the Dize Company”.

QUALITY GUARANTEE

Without question, QUALITY maintains the highest priority within our company. Quality has been a reality at the Dize Company for many years–even before it became so popular in business circles.

We talk with our customers to try to determine what their needs and expectations are–as we gain that knowledge, we set standards of performance in those areas and measure our actual performance against those standards.

At Dize, QUALITY means customer satisfaction.
